I pulled up to this ocean front office in beautiful Pacifica, CA and made my way up the stairs and into a new adventure for King Duce. I was expecting to meet some traditional business guys dressed in suits and acting the part. To my shock I could hear the sound of reggae music getting louder as I got closer to the doorway. What the hell?

For a minute I thought I had walked into the wrong office building. As I cautiously peeked into the main office, I was warmly greeted by Chris Morrow, founder of Skyfield USA and his VP of Technology, Blake Hedlund. These guys were nothing I had envisioned. They were a couple of cool and laid back guys dressed like they had been surfing earlier that morning.

Like King Duce, Chris Morrow has many dimensions that make his story something that I personally can appreciate and relate to. For starters, Chris had a successful ten year pro baseball career with the Dodgers and Giants; he grew up enjoying the outdoors fishing and surfing monster waves off the north coast of California; and in his spare time he founded a very successful investment group focused on ”Green Technologies”. His team is made up of some of the biggest names in pro sports and finance. But with all that success he’s one of the most chill and down to earth guys I’ve met in a very long time.

As Chris and I starting talking about King Duce I was stoked to see that he totally “got it”. He understood and enthusiastically supported our global vision and immediately started thinking of creative ways to get the word out to his circle of friends. The next thing I knew, King Duce was a showcased partner on his website and part of the world famous Bullrun, the famous luxury lifestyle automotive rally that Chris and his close friend Mike Schwab are driving a sick ass Ferrari in. And they’ll be reppin King Duce gear during the race. A lot of people talk about doing things. But Chris Morrow made it happen because he believes in the King Duce movement. And we’re honored to be part of his team.

This year’s Bullrun charity race will kick off July 10th in New York and finish in Austin, Texas, assuming these guys don’t get thrown in jail along the way. We’ll be covering Chris and Mike’s journey with a series of blogs. So make sure you check back for the latest stories, at least the ones I can write about.

Good luck guys!
