I am stoked to welcome David and Kevin Peraza to the King Duce BMX team. The Peraza brothers have exploded onto the BMX scene and have already been showcased on FuelTV and graced the cover of BMX magazines. David and Kevin have the rock star attitude and swagger that has built a crazy fan base of chicas everywhere, but they are respected by the top BMX riders because they consistently compete and win major events by pulling sick tricks that defy physics…

We discovered and met the Peraza’s at Camp Woodward this summer. KD team rider, Ty Callais hung out and rode with them for a few days. He literally called me from the park and said, “Rockwell, The Peraza brothers are sick! These guys are cool as hell; they wear crazy loud colors; and they can pull any trick in the book. They need to join the KD Fam right away!” I took Ty’s scouting report seriously and jumped on the phone and spoke with David Peraza the next morning. After David and I talked for a while and I watched some film I decided to sponsor them. These guys are big time riders and are quickly making a mark in the BMX world. I caught up with David this week for an interview that will give our readers a little insight into their story…

Hey David, great talking with you, man! Congratulations on the Mexico City invitation! That’s BIG!! So, let’s get this interview crackin so I can start telling the world about the Peraza Brothers. For starters, tell me about your family and where you grew up. From the sounds of it you guys seem like a tight knit family.

Yea we are a very close family, and BMX has been part of our lives ever since we learned how to ride a bike. Our parents have supported us with everything, from driving hours to a random city for a competition, or flying to some city or state we have never been to before. Without our parents we wouldn’t be where we are now. They support us in the best way possible.

Our parents are from Mexico – Hermosillo, Sonora. But my brother Kevin and I were born and raised in Tucson, AZ. Most of my relatives are living in Hermosillo, but there’s a couple here in Tucson, and a couple more in California and the rest in other states in the U.S.

Cool, how many siblings do you have?

We are a total of four boys, and we are all into BMX, including the younger brothers, Victor 9 and Eduardo 7. The little bros have it in them just like us.

perazabros5

When did you and Kevin start riding BMX?

Kevin and I started riding BMX when we were about 3 or 4 years old. We been riding and competing ever since.

Damn, I was playing in the sand box with my Tonka Trucks at four years old and you guys were ripping it up on bikes?! What big events have you competed in?

We have competed in a lot of big events in Mexico, like the Revolcon BMX Competition, the Expo Obregon National. In the U.S. we’ve competed in the Free Flow Tour, The Extreme Thing Las Vegas, Monster Army Tour, Da Compound Dirt Comp, King of Tucson Dirt Contest, and the BMX Nationals in Racing on the west coast.

perazabros6

Who are your favorite pro riders? I’m sure you and Kevin have different riders you look up to, right?

Yea, I like Mike Miller, Mike Aitken and Harry Main. And Kevin likes Mark Webb, Garret Reynolds and Bruno Hoffman.

perazabros7

What are your best tricks?

I am pretty solid with the Backflip and Tailwip. Kevin kills the Flair Tailwip and the 360 Double Tailwip.

Do you prefer dirt or street?

I prefer mostly dirt, and park, but if it’s rideable I’m down to ride it! Kevin likes to hit anything that is fun to ride.

Can you sum up why the Peraza Brothers chose to join the KD Fam?

We are super stoked to be on the King Duce BMX Team because the gear is awesome and the King Duce family has everything from music to art to extreme sports, and we think that is pretty rad!

Duce Up!!
