Woke up to a gorgeous view of the Ocean here in Florida- it was a somber morning as you could imagine knowing that Mikes very dear friend Dino was sitting in a hospital back in LA fighting for his life! Please say some prayers for him and his family. Mike & I along with Steed & Jbone had breakfast together- we then drove the boys to the airport dropped them off and then headed back on the road to meet up with the Bullrunners. We met up with Doyle and Linda who is Mikes friend- what a nice person. She & Doyle were enjoying hanging with Steed & I as we were just having the time of our lives-

Steed is a father of four and a grandfather so we were the two married guys who only talked about our beautiful wives and how blessed we were to have two understanding wives.

After our lunch break we jumped back on the road and headed to New Orleans- we spent a lot of time on the drive talking about the environment and how we all can take little steps to help reduce the carbon footprint: here are a couple of little things you can do at home;

1.) turn off computers at night before you go to bed

2.) unplug all electronic chargers if they are not being used

3.) Turn off the water when you are brushing your teeth,

4.) Bring your own recycled bags to the grocery store- do not use plastic bags.

I was playing dj while my wingman Steed was handling his business driving this leg- the scenery along the way was incredible! Everyone in the car were HUGE U2 fans so we listened to many of the boys classics- I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed listening to U2 and taking in all the sights along the way. It was such a spiritual journey. Everyday I learned more & more about Steed and I can tell you all that he will be a life long friend! This dude can handle his business and he is all about respect to his family and others- I also learned that Doyle another solid dude was a former Navy weapons specialist- makes total sense. He was in the back helping us navigate and just seemed to always be helping our team in so many ways- he was also taking lots of pictures of Steed and I capturing our journey.

Linda added such a nice energy to the car- she has a great spirit- Mike is a lucky man to be spending time with her. We entered New Orleans on our way to Bourbon Street where our hotel was- I put on George Thorogood “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer” as we rolled through the French Quarter. How fun! Steed & I checked into the hotel and we changed for dinner- we actually grabbed our dinner and sat out on the balcony overlooking Bourbon Street and had dinner together- Doyle joined us and the three of us had an amazing dinner soaking in the sights & sounds Bourbon Street had to offer- it was so nice to see New Orleans rebounding.

OMG- 3 hours of sleep……….. at breakfast you could see how tired all of us were but this was our last day. So I found someone else who is just as competitive as I am because Steed said lets close this out by placing these next last two legs- after breakfast we loaded up- Doyle & Linda were back in the car with us. What a sight seeing all the Bullrunners pulling out of New Orleans together on our way to Texas. Steed took the first leg and he drove his butt off- the drive out of New Orleans on our way to the first stop was crazy beautiful driving through all that swamp land- Steed and I spent a lot of time talking about how excited we were to see our wives and children- it is so cool to have another married friend who is so into his family. Truly a blessing- Steed rolled us into our first stop of the day and we placed 4th- that is REALLY good considering what we were competing against.

We had lunch at some little town in Texas- it was on a little lake and there were alligators in this pond- what a gorgeous place. After lunch we jumped on the road- I was now in the cock pit and we had 361 miles to drive into Austin- we cranked U2, Van Halen, Coldplay, Kid Rock, Aerosmith, Kings of Leon, Kanye West, Jay Z, Tupac, and many other great artists and we drove like Ricki Bobbi and YES we were pulling a little shake & bake on our way into Austin. When we were getting close the finish line we were in contact with one of our bro’s Mike Lacy who said you guys close to being first place for this final leg- we pulled up to the finish line just behind one of our new friends we met and took 2nd place- this was HUGE. Steed had taken 4th in the am and I had landed us a 2nd place finish. Steed & I jumped out the car and hugged each other- Stu had flown in and he was there at the finish line also- it was really nice to see him there.

Dom & Mike were also there so we all watched as the other drivers pulled into the finish line. What an experience- this was my second year in the Bullrun and I have to say that I will be a participant in this event for many years to come! Thank you all so much for following our blog. Special thanks to Green Sol and 11 Good Energy, King Duce, Go Pro, IPowerIt. Steed thanks for joining me on this adventure- I truly enjoyed getting to know who you really are. Lets now pull a Ricki Bobbi and do a little shake and bake for this Green Revolution. We all have to come together and do EVERYTHING in our power to help save our Planet. This generation HAS to be the one to help make these changes- our planet is sick and we have to help nurse it back. There is a great book called “Flat, Hot, & Crowed” by Thomas Friedman that I recommend you all read. It gives you a great perspective on how we have come to allow this to happen and what steps we can take to help make the necessary changes.
