KD Cali Tour Rolls into the Heart Land
Hip Hop, Music June 14th, 2009By Chris Rockwell
The KD Cali Tour, featuring Lace Leno and G Will, stopped off in Modesto, CA last night to a packed house at the plush two story club, Modesto Sports Bar & Grill. The support in that town was big and the people were cool as hell. I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many King Duce shirts and bandannas at one show.
G Will kicked off the party with his crowd stomping enthusiasm. Into his second song he jumped off the stage and floated through the packed crowd, just to make sure every single person was completely connected to his chorus. As a performer, G Will is addicting. He has a way that makes you want to do anything but stand still. After a few classic joints like “Pills & Snow” and “Giggin On The Dance Floor” he relinquished the mic to Lace and drifted off through the crowd still running a hundred miles an hour and headed to the bar to get mobbed by about a hundred lovely ladies waiting patiently for a smile, dance or hug.
After our good friend and master producer Big Hollis ran a short set he presented Lace Leno to the crowd with pride. The stage was completely filled with King Duce Fam, including our young King Duce MMA champs proudly toting their title belts they had brought back to their home town. It was pretty cool to see this mix of guys on one stage all representing the King Duce flag.
Lace closed the show with his new club anthem and smash music video, “Do’n What I Feel Like”. After the beat ended he and the crowd kept the chorus up for another minute or two without any music. Everyone had their hands in the air chanting with Lace, including the girls dancing in the cage. As Lace says, it was “Cookies!”
Afterwards we all met up in the VIP King Duce room downstairs and just hung out laughing our asses off as Lace and Haz (Lace’s cousin) put on a comedy show that rivaled anything I’ve seen. (I think I need to start working on a King Duce Comedy Tour.) After coming down from the show and saying our goodbyes we all slipped into the dark and headed off on our separate late night adventures.
Hope to see everyone at our next show when we come marching into your town. Register at www.kingduce.com to get the latest updates and the chance to win some sick ass KD gear!
